Black Oak Wood
Black oak is more valuable than gold and rarer than diamonds. It is called Polish ebony
named because of its deep, very dark color - from brown to completely black. It is partly
stone, partly wood. The wood buried in the peat has been in the ground for several hundred to
several thousand years in an environment with constant humidity. Thanks to the presence
tannins in the oak wood, which react with iron salts, the wood becomes hard and black. The

mineral. Black oak is a very rare mineral. The largest deposits are in
Central and Southern Europe. It is expensive, exclusive and has been highly valued for centuries by
experts.
